I tend to use the Imperial system, where it counts:In cooking, a cup is more natural, and easier to use, and imagine thatn 500 mililiters, or grams or whatever. I know what a foot is. I know what a yard is. I can imagine a mile. I know what a 2x4 is, and I know that even if measured metric, they are still 8ft long, because a gazillion houses have wood in them that length...And I do know that when gasoline was converted to metric, prices went up by 2! 0%, and since then, we have no idea how much gas we are buying. We just pay, pay, pay! And the Metric system is innacurate. It was designed on assumed 17th century measured values. Had they been more accurate, a meter, believe it or not, would be exactly 3 ft long. (Instead of some 39 inches or so!) Coincidence? I think not. Evolution designed us to fit a specific planet. Duh! The only advantage of metric is the dividing by 10 bit. Unless you live in a science lab...And most people I know, cannot tell a milli, from a centi... any more than they can tell a mega from a deca. (Although deca used to be a great recording company!)If you were born in it, and are forced to use it each day... The im! perial system does NOT fit and calculate well (12 inches to a foot), whereas we do (metric) 10 millimeters to 1 cm, 100cm to 1 meter, 1000 meters to 1 kilometer, 1000 grams to 1 kilogram... p>Vous pouvez conserver vos meilleures graines de tomate et les planter la saison prochaine. Si vous sélectionnez les graines que vous voulez conserver de vos plants de tomates les plus sains et les plus savoureux, vous pouvez multiplier vos propres tomates année après année.

Répartir toutes les graines en une seule couche sur une assiette en carton. Évitez d’utiliser d’autres types de plaques, car les graines ont tendance à coller ensemble lorsqu’elles sont placées sur des surfaces sans papier.

Lavez les graines en les agitant doucement dans l’eau douce. Utilisez une cuillère ou un autre agitateur assez long pour atteindre le fond du contenant.

Ajouter assez d’eau dans le contenant pour couvrir les graines. La quantité d’eau que vous utilisez n’a pas d’importance tant que les graines sont recouvertes ; le mÃ! ©lange peut même être soupeux.

Étiquetez le contenant avec le nom des graines de tomates que vous conservez. Ceci est particulièrement important si vous conservez différents types de semences.

Utilisez une cuillère pour enlever le film moisi et toutes les graines flottantes. Jetez-les, car vous ne pourrez pas les utiliser pour faire pousser des plants de tomates.

Choisissez les graines d’une tomate qui a été fécondée à l’air libre. Ces plantes ont poussé à partir de vraies semences, alors que les plants hybrides de tomate ont été produits par des entreprises semencières. Ils sont un croisement entre deux plantes mères et leurs graines ne se reproduiront pas fidèlement.

Mettez les graines dans un pot dont le couvercle est bien ajusté. Étiquetez le pot avec le nom de la variété de semence et la date.

Verser ce mélange dans une tasse, un bol ou un autre contenant propre. Vous n’avez pas besoin de séparer les graines du gel, car cela se produira naturellement plus tard dans le processus de fermentation.

Une fois par jour, retirez la couverture et remuez le mélange de graines. Une fois que vous avez terminé, replacez le revêtement.

Nettoyez votre contenant et remplissez-le dâ€! ™eau fraîche. L’eau doit être à température ambiante.

Enlever l’intérieur de la tomate. Vous obtiendrez à la fois les graines et le gel entourant les graines.

Couvrez votre contenant de graines d’un essuie-tout, d’une gaze à fromage ou d’une pellicule plastique. Veillez à laisser suffisamment d’espace pour que l’air puisse atteindre les graines. La transpiration de l’air favorise la fermentation des graines.

Récoltez les graines de la tomate. Pour ce faire, coupez votre tomate mûre en deux à l’aide d’un couteau.

Laissez reposer votre bac à semences. Cela peut prendre jusqu’à quatre jours ou jusqu’à ce qu’un film se forme au-dessus de l’eau et que la plupart des graines aient coulé au fond du récipient. Les graines qui flottent encore sur l’eau ne sont pas utilisables.
