An Trebil: just reading about autistic children acting out aggressively a hundred times a day. condition that.
Ignacio Imbier: find out first if they have a real mental disorder.. like a frontal lobe issue, where they can understand things like right from wrong.. than deal with it.. ODD is bull in my book.. this is mommy I don't want to listen to you or follow rules.. Nope not going to happen in my house..
Caleb Chapman: Well, I'm a thirteen year old bipolar child I can kind of relate to your child. Unlike your child, I was sent to boarding school for children with mental issues, mostly for bipolar, anger control, intermittent explosive disorder, schizophrenia, and then there was a separate wing for kids with severe anger problems, and can't hang out with the others. As much as I hate my school since I don't get to see my parents that often, it has helped me. I can interact with kids who also have bipolar and understand when I'm on a depression, I can also spe! ak with people who have other conditions. I have met some good people there, some have gone to the management wing and they come out changed people. Once I had to go there during a long lasting mania where I was doing some stupid things. I was there for about a month, and whenever I did something bad in there I had to pick to be punished or to go run some laps to cool off. It seems weird, but running laps really helped. When I was released back to my old room, I did feel changed. As much as people say not to send your kid to one of these schools, it really has helped me. And I did hate it for years, but I realize now that my parents did it because they love me, and I've met so many nice kids who will be my friends forever. I'm sorry, I can't tell you the name of my school, but if you do enough research, I'm sure you'll find it....Show more
